At the end of July, we had some great news to share: during the summer, we joined forces with the Danish language services and technology company LanguageWire.
Despite the transaction, we are still an independent Finnish company, with the same familiar Delingua team working here. I will also continue as CEO of Delingua, the company I founded, although we are now part of a larger group.
But why did we decide to make a change? And what will this change be like?
Language service industry in technology transition
The language service industry is going through a major technology transition. At the same time, new needs continue to emerge as organisations are becoming increasingly international. The breakthrough of AI also adds its own twist to business operations and competition in the sector. To put it simply: development in the industry is happening so fast that it is difficult for smaller players to keep up.
Of course, Delingua has always paid attention to the good use of technology in its services. However, our passion to serve our customers even better has led us to look into more optimal solutions. “Quite OK” does not feel like enough if we could offer the best.
Language management ecosystem
LanguageWire is known in the language service industry for its advanced technology solutions and high level of data security. Its language management ecosystem combines advanced AI with human expertise in a totally unique manner. And best of all, this next-generation technology is constantly developed by LanguageWire’s own team of machine learning experts.
Even though it sounds like a cliché, when I first saw the LanguageWire Platform a few years ago, I knew it was exactly what I wanted to offer our customers. It’s an easy-to-use and powerful platform that simplifies multilingual content management by, for instance, seamlessly integrating with customer systems and providing high-quality machine translations securely.
Of course, one element of the language management ecosystem is experts, that is, people. LanguageWire has offices in 14 different countries on three continents as well as a large network of language experts specialised in various fields, which will add greatly to Delingua’s offering.
Delingua and LanguageWire together
LanguageWire’s and Delingua’s target markets and expertise complement each other well. Together, we can offer an even more extensive range of services to both existing and new customers. Gradually, we will have access to great new technology and be able to tackle customers’ language service challenges together.
As the founder of Delingua, another important factor for me was that we can continue with the same team after the merger – after all, our key strength is our good customer service and amazing team. This is a perfect match, especially given that LanguageWire has not previously had an office in Finland.
For both our customers and our personnel, I am extremely happy that we will face future challenges in our industry together with LanguageWire. Even though I believe we are made for each other, it still felt good to hear a comment about LanguageWire from a representative of a large Finnish company: “The best translation partner I’ve ever worked with”.
P.S. You can order language services from us as before. We will tell you more about the new technology offering as the integration with LanguageWire progresses. However, if you are already interested to hear more, feel free to contact us!
