Each year, Valentine’s Day is celebrated around the world on 14th February. The day originates from Christian traditions and Saint Valentine, who lived in the 3rd century and is regarded as the patron saint of lovers. Even though Valentine’s Day is generally celebrated as a romantic day for lovers, in Finland it’s called ystävänpäivä, “Friend’s Day”, and dedicated to celebrating friendship.
On Valentine’s Day, people send cards and other greetings to friends and loved ones. As people are now stuck at home due to the coronavirus pandemic, they need a little love more than ever -all around the world.
